Are chest random spawns ? I finally located a chest just past the first mobs in the ice entrance in UW (omg I HATE smite crawlers!) but when I went back on my next trip into UW, there was no chest in that location ? I'm trying to locate a chest I can solo to, but apparently there aren't many.... and, do the chest items vary depending on how far into UW or would they all be the same random stuff by simply being a phantom chest regardless of location in UW ?

Except for "end" chests, all chest spawn locations are random and so are the contents.

There are only 4 chests that spawn in the Underworld, and their locations are random. It's just like any other area except I believe the number is set.

If you want to farm elite-area chests, do it in FoW. UW chests are notoriously awful anyway.

I know my chances are slim, but I'm trying for a good quality storm bow. White ones drop here and there, but I'd like to see one in the purple to gold range. I've killed the three terrorweb dryders in the first chamber a hundred times and they have yet to drop anything of value. Just trying to add a phantom chest to my chances. Wishful thinking I'm sure

A chest i've seen most times is in the Chaos Planes, but getting there without a good running build could be hard....

As they said above chest spawns randomly, but with a good running build and some time to lose u can do a very nice run....You just need a team to do first quest

I don't know how you don't know this, but chest spawns are random EVERYWHERE in the game.

There are certain spots a chest may appear and there is a limit on the number showing up in a certain zone. Ie, its not random where they can show up, but random whether or not they will be their any particular time.

for the amount of time you will spend hoping for a chest / storm bow and the cost of the picks/keys just go to kamadan and buy one

Inless ofcourse you mean the end chest you can open after completion of the UW quests

Not only are chest spawns random, but sometimes they don't appear until after you've killed a bunch of foes.

EDIT: According to wiki, some chests only spawn at the completion of certain quests. NOT THE SAME as the End Underworld Chest for completing all of Underworld:

Quest reward chests appear after completing a quest. Newer versions of these chests work like the locked chests, where each individual may only open the chest once, but no key is required to open. Older versions drop a single, generally low-quality item for a random party member.
Chests which drop a single item for a random party member

Chest name Location Requirements

Chest Fissure of Woe Complete Tower of Courage
Complete Defend the Temple of War

Chest Sorrow's Furnace Spawned 3 times during Kilroy Stonekin. Drops 2 or 3 items.

Chest The Underworld Spawned the first time a quest is completed for a given Reaper

Yes, I believe they are correct. Mind you, I am asking about typical chest that you encounter in explorable areas. The first time I wandered into the entrance of the ice area of UW, there was a chest I opened via phantom key drop. I have been back in that entrance twice since and no chest. Too bad
